Campbell arrived in an unexpected manner, and every bit of his miraculous little self was so anticipated and loved from the start. Being a part of welcoming him meant capturing such tangible expressions of love that these photos make my eyes water. He is surely destined for greatness. Here are a few photos from his birth:
Rowan brought a whole lot of newborn handsomeness and personality to his session. He ate and slept and hardly cried. He didn't mind his big sister's toddler attempts at gentleness. He made his mom and dad beam with love, love, love. It was an honor to do these photographs to celebrate the arrival of a much-wanted little man.
Baby Ché is my best friend's little guy, and he is all smiles and laughs, truly one of the happiest babies I've ever met. I spent a few days visiting Bellingham in January and got to do a few photos during our visit. Big sister Luci wasn't feeling a hundred percent, so I'm glad she let me take a few of her too. That said, I adore these kiddos, and their mama is a treasure of a friend. It's such fun to get to know your friends' little ones, and getting to photograph them on top of that makes me so thankful. A white Christmas, a rarity in DFW, marked Adelaide's birthday. She arrived just as the rain turned to snow, and it was an unexpectedly beautiful way to celebrate Christmas. Her mama was amazing, and her daddy was so proud to meet his tiny girl.
Cooper, sweet little man, so anticipated (see his mama's maternity photos here), so loved on arrival (see his birth photos here) and so right at home during his newborn session. This was the most wide-eyed newborn I've photographed to date, but that doesn't mean he stayed awake the whole time. I love the collection of photos that will make up Cooper's newborn session, and I love that his furry friends posed as well. This is a family whose story I have been a part of since before his mom and dad were married, and that makes my day as a photographer, seeing these ongoing stories of love lived out. Welcome to the world, Cooper. It's so good to have you here.
Sessions like this one make me think these boys will remember days like this. Running and kissing and playing with Mom and Dad at the trail just down the road from their house. Sessions like this one are the ones I love most. Simple love and easy laughs while a family lives life to the fullest- in front of my camera- together.
On December 11, I witnessed the miracle of Cooper Robert's birth. His mama's story is hers to tell, but I'll just say she was a champion. Cooper arrived wide-eyed and content, to hugs and kisses and love. And the world seemed a better place with this 8 pound, 8 ounce baby's presence. I photographed Cooper's parents' engagement session, wedding, gender reveal and maternity sessions. Seeing a couple I've known throughout their story become a family made me so excited for this birth, and these photos make me laugh and cry. Happy birthday, Cooper!

It's the end of the year, and I'm wrapping up photo sessions. It was so fun to finally do this session. We had to reschedule from earlier this fall, and they picked a perfect day and showed up with enthusiastic kiddos who were up for anything. Every bit of this session was full of life, and little Miss C is a giggle box of seven-year-old proportions (read: she laughs A LOT and contagiously). Every bit of this session reminded me of how I love photographing families (as they are) and why (because they're beautiful).

My sweet niece, almost 12-weeks-old in these photographs, came to visit! She is much loved and so stinkin' beautiful. I am missing her kissable face. That last photograph? My new favorite.
It's always fun to meet a family when they're expecting a new little one, and I loved the low-key hanging out that made up this session. Little man Cohen will be an amazing big brother, and he is a go, go, go busy sort of fella. His mom and dad know how to take their boy in stride, and they sure do love him and each other. Can't wait to meet the new addition in February!
Will is seven and all that seven entails. Energetic. Busy. Fast. Fun. He's quite the conversationalist and one well-loved little boy. I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with him and his mom.
This family? I've been doing their photos since a toddling boy chased his bald baby sister. The kids know me by name; they greet me with high-fives and hugs. I love the rapport that allows for genuine joy and real love to come through the camera lens. Every session with this crew is an honor, and this amazing family makes me smile.
I don't have a lot of words for this session other than this: it felt magical. The love. The smiles. The genuineness. The beauty. It was so very real. Super B is one blessed little fella. I think that shines through here.
Halloween meant triplet wild things, in costume, of course.Handmade costumes and crunchy leaves and raisins and a story book to boot were the trappings of this session.
