Meet Chuck, who informed me towards the beginning of our session that he is "awesome." Accompanied by his four-legged sidekick Blue, Chuck is on a mission to play with Legos, to make fast friends and to bring big smiles to those who get to meet him. This is a great kid. It was an honor to take his photograph. I love the results.
It was so fun that my vacation overlapped with the holidays of one of my favorite Massachusetts families so that we were able to do a photo session on a Cape Cod beach. Cape Cod is magical, but the love of this family outshines any beautiful backdrop. That said, I'm excited to share this session. Will post some vacation photos later this week!
My sweet niece turns one tomorrow! I cannot believe just how much this tiny girl has enriched my life and the lives of everyone in my family. To say we are in love is an understatement. I am overwhelmed with gratefulness that I've been able to be so present in her little life thusfar. I have big hopes and dreams for this little sprite. She's just amazing. I got to take her first birthday photos in North Carolina last week. I love you, Betsy! Happy birthday to you.

I've known this guy since he was a few weeks old. I got to be his nanny when he was a baby, and as he's grown up I've had the privilege of updating his photos every year. Super G has a shy smile and an easy way about him. He's loveable and fast-moving. Three is a great age: independent, curious and busy as can be. I cannot believe this little boy has grown up to be such a big guy!
What could be more beautiful than this family? How about adding a baby girl to the mix? I absolutely adore maternity sessions. The anticipation and hope wrapped in a tiny life makes a family absolutely shine, and the love was utterly tangible on Saturday morning. I'm so excited to share these photographs.
My dear friends' beautiful girl turned 13 a few weeks ago, so we headed to the trail by their house and took some photos to commemorate. I've known Melinda since she was a bun in the oven, and it's amazing to see who she is becoming. She's a light, and that shows in these photographs.
Such a joy to be able to work in Raleigh, NC, where my tiny niece lives. I love updating her photos, and this time around, her big brother Brandon and little buddy Eli got in on some of the fun too. I wish I had words for this little girl, but I'll stick to images today lest I get crazy emotional on you.

This session? So much love and goodness and beauty. I always love photographing families, but these images overwhelm me. Is there anything better than witnessing what is good and right and true in the world? These guys give me a picture of that.
Blythe belongs to great friends, so I loved getting to celebrate her first birthday. We did these photographs the day before her birthday, and it was a gorgeous, perfect day for photos. The girls played and picked flowers and laughed, and the color of spring so complimented the celebratory atmosphere of the session. It was a wonderful way to celebrate a precious baby girl.
I did Porter's newborn session on a day when his big brother was sick. On Mother's Day, we got together again to update the family photos to include everyone, and I love that fifteen minutes at the park resulted in so many images that I love. I wasn't planning to blog these but as I finished them up this afternoon, I couldn't help myself. Such a sweet little session of such a sweet family...
I wanted to photograph these triplets since a friend started nannying for them after I joined her for a play date. They are as unique as can be but somehow fit right together, just so. Toddler multiples require a lot of patience, and their mom and dad (and aunt) showed up ready to go. I cannot help but smile going through these images. I just love them. I love how photography has provided me the opportunity to reconnect with old friends. This sweet mama-to-be went to high school with me, and a coming baby gave us a reason to get together. I loved meeting her family and hanging out at the park while we discussed baby names and hopes. I cannot wait to see who their little boy turns out to be. I've been celebrating the lives of these little guys with my camera for the last couple of years. They recently moved into a new home, and we got to update their photos in their new space. This is a family that delights to be together, and I love the way that shines through in these images. The boys are all boy, and their parents and grandparents revel in being with them. It's the good stuff of life.
When I started photographing this family, three littles were running around. Those littles aren't so little any more, and Baby Claire has grown into three years of busyness and opinions and goodness. We did a photo update on account of her growing-up-so-fast status, and I love the end result. These guys make me smile. So much love to behold.
Time flies and newborns turn into babies who need their portraits updated. Spring-time in DFW is the best time of year for photo sessions, but somehow the morning of this session was blustery and cold. It didn't matter to this sweet little man and his big sister. They smiled and beamed, and I loved updating their photos.
This mama is always willing to hold out for the best light for photographs, and I love that she waited until just before bed time for a little park play-date. Photographing a one-year-old and a three-year-old presents an opportunity to stay on my toes, so we played and ran and baby-wrangled. The end result is a set of real-life photos that show a lot of love and a lot of life. I love these images.
This little lady, along with her 4-year-old and 2-year-old big brothers, kept me on my toes the entire afternoon. Celebrating Landry's first birthday was the cause for the session. She's not quite ready to walk, but she is already a mover and a shaker. I always love seeing this crew, as watching littles grow up is one of my favorite parts of this job.
