Park Days

Family sessions at the park are perfect, even in late February in Dallas if you wait for the right day. We had to wait for just the right day for this crew. Holidays then sickness then weather then anything that could possibly go wrong seemed to do so. And then Sunday the sun shone, and two happy boys with two lovely parents joined me at the park. And we ran and played and talked Angry Birds. I love the moments I was able to capture for this crew and cannot wait to finish working on their images.

Introducing Rowan!

Rowan brought a whole lot of newborn handsomeness and personality to his session. He ate and slept and hardly cried. He didn't mind his big sister's toddler attempts at gentleness. He made his mom and dad beam with love, love, love. It was an honor to do these photographs to celebrate the arrival of a much-wanted little man.

Baby Ché and Little Miss Luci {Bellingham Baby Photographer}

Baby Ché is my best friend's little guy, and he is all smiles and laughs, truly one of the happiest babies I've ever met. I spent a few days visiting Bellingham in January and got to do a few photos during our visit. Big sister Luci wasn't feeling a hundred percent, so I'm glad she let me take a few of her too. That said, I adore these kiddos, and their mama is a treasure of a friend. It's such fun to get to know your friends' little ones, and getting to photograph them on top of that makes me so thankful. Here are a few photos from our visit.

Eli

A few minutes with an old friend's brand new boy (and a couple of shots of one proud big sister). Eli charmed his sleepy little self right into my heart. It's quiet around here for a couple of weeks, and I'm enjoying the time while gearing up for a busy 2013. It's not too early to book your spring session.

The Days They'll Remember

Sessions like this one make me think these boys will remember days like this. Running and kissing and playing with Mom and Dad at the trail just down the road from their house. Sessions like this one are the ones I love most. Simple love and easy laughs while a family lives life to the fullest- in front of my camera- together.

Family Photo Fun!

It's the end of the year, and I'm wrapping up photo sessions. It was so fun to finally do this session. We had to reschedule from earlier this fall, and they picked a perfect day and showed up with enthusiastic kiddos who were up for anything. Just a quick sneak peek, as I need to get their gallery done so they have photos in time for Christmas...

Happy Day

Every bit of this session was full of life, and little Miss C is a giggle box of seven-year-old proportions (read: she laughs A LOT and contagiously). Every bit of this session reminded me of how I love photographing families (as they are) and why (because they're beautiful).

Coming Soon: A Baby for the G Family

It's always fun to meet a family when they're expecting a new little one, and I loved the low-key hanging out that made up this session. Little man Cohen will be an amazing big brother, and he is a go, go, go busy sort of fella. His mom and dad know how to take their boy in stride, and they sure do love him and each other. Can't wait to meet the new addition in February!

Will

Will is seven and all that seven entails. Energetic. Busy. Fast. Fun. He's quite the conversationalist and one well-loved little boy. I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with him and his mom.

Little E, Super Model Extraordinaire

Little E belongs to friends who are like family, and she is feisty and opinionated and fun. When I told her I'd send her updated photos to Santa so he could see how much she'd grown this year, she said, "Santa will think I'm a super model." This girl has a sense of style. I've been doing her photos since she was a baby, and it's hard to believe she's become such a little lady. I love how much personality comes through in these photographs.

One Amazing Family

This family? I've been doing their photos since a toddling boy chased his bald baby sister. The kids know me by name; they greet me with high-fives and hugs. I love the rapport that allows for genuine joy and real love to come through the camera lens. Every session with this crew is an honor, and this amazing family makes me smile.

Where the Wild Things Are

Halloween meant triplet wild things, in costume, of course.Handmade costumes and crunchy leaves and raisins and a story book to boot were the trappings of this session. I've watched these littles grow since they were a few weeks old, and these are some of my favorite photos to date. Don't you love them?

Photographing Friends

It's an honor when friends ask me to update their family photos. We had to reschedule this session a couple of times before it actually happened, but I'm glad we made it happen. I love the way this family is grounded and focused on simplicity and on loving others well. They are inspiring and warm and some of my all-around favorite people.

Doubly Darling

Two-year-old twin girls are busy, independent, fun. They are learning to talk and wanting to go! and do! and be! and finding their feet in life. Neither little miss was certain they wanted to have their photos taken. And that's okay, because the end result was genuine expressions and real life. I'm glad I get to keep on telling the story of these little girls.

A Mama and Her Girl

This is the fourth year I've photographed these two, and it's such an incredible thing to watch a little girl grow up before my eyes. Watching she and her mom interact at this session was so fun. I think you can see love in these images.

Four Little Ladies

They came with smiles and precociousness and curiosity, these four. The little ones look up to the big ones. The big ones are eager to help the little ones. The four of them are so fortunate to have one another, and it seems like they have that figured out already, young though they are. I'm glad my camera got to bear witness to it, and don't you just love their outfits?
